| Acting | Shota Matsuda delivers a compelling and stylish performance that remains the strongest anchor for the film. | |
| Production | The film utilizes a vibrant and extravagant aesthetic in its character costumes and hairstyles, adding visual flair. | |
| Originality | The plot relies on a well-worn, predictable formula that lacks the thematic depth and innovation of earlier installments. | |
| Acting | Performances are inconsistent, with viewers divided between finding the supporting cast's exaggerated, stylized portrayals charmingly appropriate or distractingly weak and stereotypical. | |
| Acting | The reception of the new lead actress is sharply divided; some find her portrayal a refreshing refinement of the naive archetype, while others criticize her lack of chemistry and charm compared to the original heroine. | |
| Pacing | Opinions on the direction and pacing vary, as some viewers enjoy the sustained tension while others find the execution boring, overly drawn-out, or lacking the emotional heart of the original series. |
