Key opinion
After Midnight is a cult late-80s horror anthology that succeeds as a series of character-driven, psychological vignettes. While it lacks a grand supernatural scale, its tight focus on human folly and charismatic performances make it a compelling, if obscure, genre entry.
| Screenplay | The anthology format effectively uses the framing device of a professor's class to explore the psychology of fear. | |
| Acting | Ramy Zada delivers a magnetic and charismatic performance that anchors the film's premise. | |
| Cinematography | The cinematography and score work in tandem to create a dynamic, atmospheric experience despite the film's modest budget. | |
| Screenplay | The individual segments vary in quality, with 'Allison's Story' standing out as the strongest entry. |
