Key opinion
This live-action adaptation of the Ajin manga is widely recognized for its high-octane, skillfully choreographed action sequences and impressive visual effects regarding the 'ghost' manifestations. While it succeeds as a slick, genre-focused spectacle, some viewers find the repetitive nature of its immortal combat both nihilistic and narratively exhausting.
| Direction | The film excels in delivering crisp, stylized, and inventive action choreography that effectively utilizes the unique resurrection mechanics. | |
| Production | The visual effects used to render the 'ghost' manifestations are technically impressive and distinct. | |
| Acting | The performances, particularly from the lead and the primary antagonists, provide strong anchors for the high-concept sci-fi narrative. | |
| Pacing | The film's relentless focus on combat creates a polarizing experience: some appreciate the tight, consistent pacing, while others feel the endless loop of fighting becomes a hollow, repetitive gimmick. | |
| Ending | The narrative resolution is viewed differently; some see it as a clever, playful twist on immortal tropes, while others feel it fails to break the cycle of the film's own endless combat structure. |
