Key opinion
All Star Superman is a polarized adaptation that struggles to condense Grant Morrison's dense source material into a 75-minute runtime. While viewers praise the strong vocal performances and the intellectual development of Lex Luthor, many feel the narrative is disjointed and the animation style lacks the necessary polish.
| Acting | The voice acting delivers a strong, character-driven performance that grounds the protagonist's emotional journey. | |
| Theme | Lex Luthor is elevated by a compelling character arc that provides meaningful insight into his relationship with the hero. | |
| Pacing | The narrative suffers from rushed pacing that leaves supporting characters underdeveloped and key plot threads feeling omitted. | |
| Production | The anime-inspired visual style is polarizing, with some appreciating the high-quality aesthetic and others finding the character designs, particularly Superman's face, unappealing. | |
| Screenplay | The screenplay faces criticism for being confusing and banal, struggling to balance a multitude of events within a short timeframe. |
