While fans of the genre praise its immersive atmosphere of decay and artistic devotion, critics argue that its relentless violence lacks a coherent narrative purpose or meaningful social commentary.
| Originality | The film achieves a grim, immersive atmosphere of hopelessness and decay that surpasses the original installment. | |
| Production | The practical gore effects represent a significant technical improvement, moving from obviously fake to unsettlingly realistic. | |
| Score | The metal-inspired soundtrack and dark aesthetic create a uniquely oppressive sensory experience that resonates with niche underground horror fans. | |
| Theme | The film's extreme nature is divisive: some view it as a raw, honest expression of human depravity, while others dismiss the excessive violence as hollow shock tactics. | |
