Key opinion
Bestialità is a transgressive Italian film that explores the disturbing themes of zoophilia and maternal sexual trauma. While it attempts to blend eroticism with horror and thriller elements, it is generally criticized for its lack of narrative coherence and clumsy social commentary.
| Screenplay | The narrative lacks coherence, characterized by a drifting plot and a disconnect between its romanticized portrayal of an affair and its depiction of abnormal characters. | |
| Originality | The film's attempt to push boundaries is seen as a scandalous, boundary-pushing experiment by some, while others find its execution to be superficial. | |
| Theme | The exploration of zoophilia and maternal trauma is viewed as a scandalous endeavor, while others find the resulting social commentary to be clumsy. | |
| Accessibility | The film's transgressive content is polarizing, seen as voyeuristic exploitation by some and as boundary-pushing material for tolerant viewers by others. |
