Key opinion
Bohemian Rhapsody is widely praised for its energetic musical sequences and the uncanny physical likeness of its cast, particularly Rami Malek’s committed performance. However, critics and fans remain divided on its merits as a biography, with many pointing to historical inaccuracies and a formulaic screenplay as major drawbacks.
| Emotion | The film succeeds as a high-energy musical experience that effectively captures the band's stage presence and iconic anthems. | |
| Acting | The supporting cast captures the physical likeness and chemistry of the original band members with striking accuracy. | |
| Production | Cinematography and production design create a stylish, immersive atmosphere that elevates the viewing experience. | |
| Acting | Rami Malek's performance is either celebrated as a transformative, soulful embodiment of Freddie Mercury or criticized as a superficial mimicry that lacks emotional depth. | |
| Adaptation | The film is either viewed as a necessary artistic tribute that honors the spirit of Queen or dismissed as a factually loose, generic, and sanitized Hollywood biopic. | |
| Screenplay | The screenplay is praised for its pacing and structural flow in musical scenes, but criticized for relying on stale clichés and failing to provide deep character development. |
