Key opinion
Bulletproof is a polarizing buddy-cop action comedy that relies heavily on the charisma of leads Adam Sandler and Damon Wayans. While some viewers find it to be a funny, lighthearted genre staple with memorable comedic set-pieces, critics frequently condemn it for its weak script, reliance on tired stereotypes, and lack of thematic depth.
| Acting | The comedic chemistry between leads Adam Sandler and Damon Wayans serves as the film's primary engine, with many viewers finding their contrasting energy consistently entertaining. | |
| Cinematography | The action sequences are frequently cited as a highlight, successfully providing the energy required for a standard 90s buddy-cop vehicle. | |
| Theme | The film utilizes racial dynamics as a core component of the duo's friction and eventual camaraderie, though opinions split on whether this is an earnest attempt at cultural commentary or a reliance on base stereotypes. | |
| Screenplay | The script is heavily criticized for its thin, uninspired plot and an over-reliance on juvenile, frequently offensive humor. | |
| Direction | While fans enjoy the film as a breezy, nostalgic action-comedy, detractors feel the direction is lazy and fails to utilize the talents of its cast effectively. |
