Key opinion
Cats & Dogs is a polarizing family comedy that blends spy thriller tropes with animal-centric action. While many audiences enjoy its dynamic pacing and nostalgic charm, others criticize its thin script and perceived bias against cats.
| Originality | The film succeeds as a lighthearted family adventure that effectively parodies spy movie tropes. | |
| Production | The CGI and facial animation for the animals are frequently praised for being highly effective and expressive. | |
| Screenplay | The screenplay is viewed as thin or formulaic, relying on standard genre clichés rather than a sophisticated narrative. | |
| Emotion | The film's tone is divisive; some viewers find the action dynamic and amusing, while others find the reliance on animal-warfare violence and 'cat-vs-dog' bias off-putting. |
