Key opinion
Clash of the Titans is widely viewed as a visually driven, popcorn-style spectacle that sacrifices narrative cohesion and thematic depth for action. While many appreciate the production design and Ramin Djawadi's score, the film is frequently criticized for its clichéd script, weak 3D implementation, and failure to faithfully adapt the source mythology.
| Production | The film succeeds as a light, "brain-off" entertainment piece, featuring well-staged battles and impressive production design. | |
| Score | Ramin Djawadi's dynamic and atmospheric score is a notable standout that enhances the viewing experience. | |
| Screenplay | The script is frequently described as simplistic, incoherent, and derivative, relying heavily on modern blockbuster clichés. | |
| Originality | The 3D effects are widely considered crude and poorly implemented, often creating a jarring, layered aesthetic rather than true volume. | |
| Acting | Opinions on the acting are divided: some praise the star-studded ensemble cast, while others find Sam Worthington's performance flat and the supporting roles underutilized. | |
| Adaptation | Viewers are split on the adaptation fidelity; some appreciate the modernization of mythic elements, while many purists criticize the film for ignoring the source material and failing to feature any actual Titans. |
