Key opinion
Colombiana is generally viewed as a competent but formulaic action film that relies heavily on genre tropes. While Zoé Saldaña’s lead performance receives widespread praise for its charisma and physical commitment, the film is consistently criticized for its predictable, logically inconsistent screenplay.
| Acting | Zoé Saldaña delivers a charismatic and convincing performance that anchors the film despite the weak material. | |
| Screenplay | The screenplay is widely considered predictable, derivative, and riddled with logical absurdities. | |
| Direction | The action sequences offer flashy, entertaining spectacle, though some find the choreography and execution to be technically flawed or overly stylized. | |
| Production | The film's use of sexualized imagery and near-nudity is frequently described as gratuitous and disconnected from the narrative. | |
| Theme | The film's tone is polarizing, as some viewers enjoy it as an uncomplicated, colorful summer action flick, while others find its lack of originality and depth to be a disappointment. |
