Jason Kelly is one week away from marrying his boss's uber-controlling daughter, putting him on the fast track for a partnership at the law firm. However, when the straight-laced Jason is tricked into driving his foul-mouthed grandfather, Dick, to Daytona for spring break, his pending nuptials are suddenly in jeopardy. Key opinion
The film is broadly dismissed as a stale, low‑brow comedy that recycles tired tropes and showcases a polarizing De Niro performance. While a few reviewers find occasional humor, most regard it as a disappointing, unoriginal effort.
| Originality | The film feels unoriginal and lazy, recycling tired bachelor‑party conventions and lacking fresh insight | |
| Screenplay | Its screenplay is predictable and thin, with contrived plot twists that fail to engage | |
| Humor | Humor swings between relentless toilet jokes that alienate many viewers and occasional sharp satire that some find surprisingly clever | |
| Acting | De Niro’s willingness to embrace absurdity delights some, while others view his performance as a career low and embarrassingly forced | |
| Theme | The attempted satire of aging and identity remains shallow, offering no meaningful depth despite the film’s ambitions |
