Key opinion
D-War is widely criticized as a hollow spectacle that prioritizes large-scale destruction over narrative logic and character development. While the visual effects receive occasional praise for their ambition and technical detail, the majority of reviewers find the film disjointed, poorly acted, and lacking a coherent script.
| Acting | The performances are wooden, with lead actors failing to deliver believable or emotionally resonant portrayals. | |
| Screenplay | The screenplay suffers from a disjointed narrative and nonsensical character decisions that undermine the film's mythic premise. | |
| Production | Visual effects elicit mixed reactions, ranging from praise for their ambitious scale and detail to criticism for appearing dated or poorly integrated with live-action footage. | |
| Pacing | The pacing is criticized for spending too much time on dull exposition, resulting in an uneven flow that struggles to sustain audience engagement. |
