Key opinion
Extinct is a visually charming animation that resonates more effectively with younger children than adult audiences. While the character designs are widely praised for being cute and well-executed, the narrative and humor draw mixed reactions regarding their depth and maturity.
| Production | The character design of the 'fluffies' is highly appealing and serves as a standout visual element. | |
| Cinematography | The animation features clear shading and well-developed, inventive movement mechanics for the creatures. | |
| Screenplay | The narrative structure and character arcs feel familiar and predictable, adhering to standard genre tropes. | |
| Humor | The humor is polarizing, with some finding it edgy and reminiscent of The Simpsons, while others perceive it as bland and lacking sophistication. | |
| Ending | The ending relies on an abrupt, illogical twist that lacks necessary emotional buildup. |
