Key opinion
This adaptation of the 'Heaven’s Feel' route is a visual and auditory triumph that showcases Ufotable's top-tier animation and atmospheric sound design. However, it suffers from significant narrative accessibility issues, as the film assumes prior knowledge of the franchise and provides a disjointed, incomplete story for newcomers and veterans alike.
| Cinematography | Ufotable delivers stunning animation featuring high-quality 2D/3D integration and visceral, atmospheric fight choreography. | |
| Score | The musical score and string arrangements expertly heighten the film's emotional intensity and dramatic tension. | |
| Accessibility | The narrative fails to accommodate newcomers by omitting essential franchise context and failing to explain the mechanics of the Holy Grail War. | |
| Screenplay | The screenplay is disjointed and uneven, with shuffled scenes that create an incoherent viewing experience even for fans of the source material. | |
| Theme | Opinions on character development are mixed: the slow-burn approach allows for deeper exploration of figures like Sakura and Shinji, but results in a lackluster, generic start to the film. |
