Key opinion
First Sunday is a lightweight comedy that serves as a serviceable, if unpolished, watch for casual viewers. While it features some bright spots in its supporting cast, the film is widely criticized for its derivative execution and lack of technical refinement.
| Acting | The supporting cast provides the film's most enjoyable moments through witty performances and humorous character work. | |
| Cinematography | The visual presentation suffers from a cheap, incoherent aesthetic that lacks professional polish. | |
| Screenplay | The screenplay relies on a formulaic, derivative structure that fails to meet genre standards. | |
| Acting | Ice Cube's performance is polarizing; some viewers find it adequate for the genre, while others feel he is ill-suited to the role and detrimental to the film's quality. | |
| Humor | Opinions on the humor are divided; some find the gags and absurd moments entertaining for a casual viewing, while others find the comedy overall lacking. |
