Key opinion
God Is a Bullet is a polarizing genre film that divides audiences between those who appreciate its gritty, grotesque aesthetic and those who find its narrative execution disjointed and naive. While the acting performances, particularly from Jamie Foxx and Maika Monroe, receive frequent praise, the film's excessive runtime and underdeveloped plot remain significant points of contention.
| Acting | Jamie Foxx delivers a charismatic and credible performance that serves as a highlight among the cast. | |
| Acting | Maika Monroe provides a compelling, storm-like portrayal of a flawed character. | |
| Production | The film utilizes a striking, stylized visual aesthetic that effectively leans into a gritty, neo-noir atmosphere. | |
| Runtime | The long runtime and bloated pacing hinder the narrative, with many viewers feeling the story fails to justify its duration. | |
| Screenplay | The script suffers from empty dialogue and a failure to adequately flesh out the primary hero and villain's motivations. | |
| Direction | Opinions on the film's tone are split, with some viewers enjoying the grotesque, Tarantinesque authorial madness while others dismiss it as amateurish, laughable caricature. |
