Home is generally regarded as a visually stunning, family-oriented film that succeeds as a lighthearted entertainment piece despite its narrative simplicity. Opinions are sharply divided, however, between viewers who appreciate its warmth, music, and charming characters, and those who find the plot derivative, overly simplistic, and lacking the emotional depth of top-tier animation.

Production The animation features a vibrant, high-quality color palette and impressive visual design that effectively captures the film's whimsical atmosphere.
Score The soundtrack, anchored by Rihanna and Lorne Balfe, serves as a major highlight, with viewers praising its integration and standalone appeal.
Acting Jim Parsons delivers a distinct and engaging vocal performance that anchors the character of O and highlights the film's comedic potential.
Screenplay The screenplay relies heavily on predictable clichés and a simplistic narrative structure that leaves more demanding viewers feeling unengaged.
Humor The film's humor is a point of contention, with some finding it charmingly absurd while others view the jokes as nonsensical, awkward, or lacking intelligence.
Theme The film’s tone and thematic depth split audiences, with some finding it a heartwarming, family-friendly masterpiece and others criticizing it for being superficial, lacking emotional weight, and failing to meaningfully explore its colonization premise.
