Key opinion
House of Fury is a lighthearted Hong Kong action-comedy that successfully prioritizes dynamic stunts and accessible entertainment over narrative complexity. While the film suffers from a sluggish, joke-heavy opening, it hits its stride once the fight choreography takes center stage.
| Direction | The fight choreography by Yen Wu-Ping and Armstrong Yen is highly effective, allowing the cast to perform convincing combat despite limited athletic backgrounds. | |
| Acting | The performances are well-cast, successfully anchoring the film's energetic Hong Kong style. | |
| Screenplay | The screenplay is largely viewed as contrived and simplistic, serving primarily as a loose framework for the action. | |
| Pacing | The pacing is divided between a tedious, dialogue-heavy first twenty minutes and the engaging, high-energy action that defines the remainder of the film. | |
| Humor | The comedic elements are inconsistent, with many of the early jokes failing to land effectively. |
