Key opinion
Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas is a festive, lighthearted short that successfully leverages audience nostalgia for the franchise's core cast. While the narrative is considered simple and predictable, most viewers find it to be an enjoyable, seasonal addition for fans of the series.
| Acting | The return of the core voice cast and the ensemble of familiar characters provides a comforting sense of nostalgia. | |
| Humor | Scrat’s signature slapstick sequences involving his search for the acorn remain a reliable source of amusement. | |
| Production | The festive aesthetic and holiday-themed musical score effectively create a warm, celebratory atmosphere. | |
| Screenplay | The plot, centered on a journey to find Santa, is viewed by some as a delightful family fable, while others criticize it as an unoriginal and clichéd departure from the franchise's tone. | |
| Runtime | The short's 25-minute length is widely seen as appropriate for its modest goals, with critics noting it would struggle to maintain interest if extended. |
