Description
Anton is a cheerful but exceedingly non-ambitious 17-year-old stoner who lives to stay buzzed, watch TV, and moon over Molly, the beautiful girl who lives next door. However, it turns out that the old cliché about idle hands being the devil's playground has a kernel of truth after all.

Key opinion
Idle Hands is a cult horror-comedy that blends adolescent slacker tropes with gore and absurdity. While some critics dismiss it as crude and uneven, fans and many viewers celebrate it as an inventive, high-energy, and genuinely funny piece of 90s entertainment.
| Acting | The ensemble cast, featuring Devon Sawa, Seth Green, and Jessica Alba, delivers strong and charismatic performances that anchor the film's absurd premise. | |
| Score | The soundtrack, featuring appearances and tracks by bands like The Offspring, effectively complements the film's energetic and manic tone. | |
| Originality | The film succeeds as a genre-blending cult classic that maintains a consistent balance between grotesque horror and dark, irreverent humor. | |
| Screenplay | Opinions on the screenplay are divided: proponents praise the ironic, satirical take on teenage apathy, while critics argue the humor relies too heavily on repetitive crude jokes about drugs and sex. | |
| Direction | The directing is subject to debate; some viewers find the chaotic style fits the manic energy of the story, whereas others find the camera work erratic and the pacing monotonous. |
