Key opinion
The Twins Effect II is generally regarded as a visually vibrant but narratively shallow fantasy adventure that relies heavily on its star-studded cast. While some viewers enjoy its lighthearted, fairy-tale atmosphere, others criticize the messy script and the lackluster performance of the lead actors.
| Acting | Jackie Chan's brief appearance is widely considered the film's standout highlight, particularly his fight sequence with Donnie Yen. | |
| Production | The film features striking, colorful landscapes and an aesthetic visual flair that partially compensates for other shortcomings. | |
| Acting | The central performances from the younger cast, particularly Jaycee Chan, are seen as uninspired and failing to replicate the charisma of their predecessors. | |
| Screenplay | The screenplay is consistently described as weak, chaotic, and lacking the depth required to make the mythic premise engaging. | |
| Direction | The reliance on excessive special effects and wire-work over grounded martial arts choreography divides viewers between those who enjoy the spectacle and those who find it artificial. | |
| Humor | The tone is subject to debate, as some appreciate the lighthearted, naive fantasy adventure, while others find the humor and style to be garish and poorly executed. |
