Key opinion
King of Thieves is widely regarded as a missed opportunity that fails to fully capitalize on its high-caliber veteran cast. While the film offers an entertaining premise based on a true crime, it suffers from a disjointed narrative structure that loses momentum following the central heist.
| Acting | The ensemble cast features legendary veteran actors whose individual performances are the film's most reliable asset. | |
| Screenplay | The narrative structure feels unbalanced, focusing too heavily on Michael Caine at the expense of developing the wider group of thieves. | |
| Screenplay | The plot shifts from a perceptive heist setup to a tedious and poorly developed exploration of betrayal and moral dilemmas in the second half. | |
| Ending | The film's conclusion is widely criticized for feeling rushed and failing to provide a satisfying resolution to the story. | |
| Pacing | Viewers are split on whether the film provides an entertaining crime caper or a sluggish, uninspired experience that squanders its real-life subject matter. |
