A rich Sicilian, Fefè Mottola, decides to call a wealthy girl graduate: Giovanna, who is about to become a teacher, because his son needs repetitions. The boy, named Franco, is shocked by the physical beauty of the teacher, and so to restrain himself decides to pose as gay. But the deception does not last long, because the sexual impulses of Alfredo explode.

L'Insegnante is viewed as a forgettable and superficial B-movie that leans heavily into 1970s erotic tropes. While it features some memorable visual sequences and strong lead performances, it ultimately suffers from a thin narrative and an inability to effectively balance its comedic and erotic elements.

Originality The film functions as a low-budget, forgettable production that lacks the quality of its French and Italian genre contemporaries.
Screenplay The thin plot and lack of meaningful subtext prevent the film from achieving depth, leaving it feeling superficial.
Acting The chemistry between Edwige Fenech and Vittorio Caprioli stands out as a highlight of the production.
Production The film utilizes striking, memorable imagery, such as the tomato juice bath sequence, to emphasize its themes.
Humor Opinions are divided on the film's tone; some find the focus on teen lust and eroticism to be a bold stylistic choice, while others view it as an unsuccessful and vulgar imbalance of comedy and sensuality.
