Legend of Kolovrat is a polarized historical fantasy that leans into mythic spectacle rather than rigid historical accuracy. While many praise its vibrant visual style, emotional resonance, and patriotic tone, others find the script thin, the acting uneven, and the reliance on CGI inconsistent.
| Production | The film delivers a visually striking, mythic aesthetic that successfully evokes a fairy-tale or comic-book atmosphere comparable to "300". | |
| Acting | The performances are polarizing; while the lead and certain supporting characters are praised for their conviction, others are criticized as wooden, unconvincing, or miscast. | |
| Screenplay | The script is a point of contention, with some viewers finding it an effective, straightforward patriotic narrative, while others dismiss it as simplistic, historically distorted, and lacking narrative depth. | |
| Direction | The battle choreography is widely discussed, with opinions split between those who appreciate the creative action sequences and those who find them physically absurd or lacking in impact. | |
| Cinematography | The use of heavy green-screen and CGI receives mixed feedback, with some appreciating the deliberate, stylized look, while others find the effects cartoonish and jarring. |
