Key opinion
Locked is a claustrophobic thriller that relies heavily on the star power of Bill Skarsgård and Anthony Hopkins to elevate its otherwise derivative premise. While some viewers appreciate the philosophical debates and tense atmosphere of the vehicle-bound setup, many critics feel the plot is predictable, lacks depth, and fails to fully realize its potential.
| Acting | Bill Skarsgård delivers a compelling, desperate performance that serves as the film's primary anchor. | |
| Acting | Anthony Hopkins brings a commanding, intellectual presence to his role as the voice-only antagonist. | |
| Originality | The premise of a high-tech car serving as a claustrophobic prison is an intriguing hook, though it offers little innovation compared to predecessors like Buried or Saw. | |
| Theme | The philosophical dialogues between the captor and victim create meaningful tension for some, while others find the social commentary superficial and disconnected. | |
| Ending | The film starts with strong, claustrophobic suspense but loses momentum due to a formulaic and conventional finale. | |
| Screenplay | The script fails to establish a character worth rooting for, leaving audiences emotionally detached from the protagonist's plight. |
