Key opinion
Luftslottet som sprängdes concludes the Millennium trilogy with a shift toward a legal thriller, focusing on Lisbeth Salander's vindication against systemic corruption. While the performances remain a standout, the film's pacing and narrative structure divide audiences compared to its predecessor.
| Acting | Noomi Rapace delivers an astonishing and definitive performance that anchors the trilogy's emotional core. | |
| Adaptation | The film succeeds as a faithful adaptation that captures the thematic weight and resolution of Stieg Larsson’s source material. | |
| Pacing | The transition to a courtroom-focused narrative feels less intense and kinetic than the franchise's prior action-oriented entries. | |
| Runtime | Opinions on the film's structure vary: some find the 2.5-hour runtime swift and engaging, while others criticize the plot as dull, stagnant, or poorly paced. | |
| Direction | The shift in directors between the first and final installments creates a noticeable stylistic inconsistency that hampers the trilogy's cohesion. |
