Key opinion
Maggie is a somber and emotionally grounded take on the zombie genre that prioritizes character drama over traditional horror scares. While the performances of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Abigail Breslin are widely praised, the film's deliberate, slow-burn pacing leaves some viewers feeling underwhelmed.
| Acting | Arnold Schwarzenegger delivers a surprisingly realistic and poignant performance as a grieving father, marking an effective shift in his career. | |
| Acting | Abigail Breslin provides a solid, capable performance that grounds the film's emotional core. | |
| Originality | The film fails to meet horror expectations, offering a quiet, sad drama rather than the scares implied by the zombie apocalypse setting. | |
| Pacing | The slow-paced, contemplative narrative polarizes viewers; some find the quiet focus beautiful and well-made, while others describe the experience as ultimately forgettable. |
