Key opinion
Margaux is widely considered a low-budget, archetypal slasher that attempts to tackle modern smart-home horror but falters under the weight of weak, illogical writing. While some viewers find its B-movie aesthetic and pace entertaining, most critics agree that the derivative characters and subpar CGI make for a disposable experience.
| Screenplay | The ensemble cast relies heavily on tired, one-dimensional slasher archetypes rather than developed characters. | |
| Production | The computer-generated imagery is severely dated, drawing unfavorable comparisons to visual effects from the early 2000s. | |
| Screenplay | The film's narrative logic is frequently criticized, with a plot that fails to provide clear motivations for the antagonist's actions. | |
| Cinematography | The film's production quality is divisive; some viewers appreciate the visual style and brisk pacing, while others find the execution unpolished and cheap. |
