Key opinion
Momentum is widely regarded as a generic and uninspired action thriller that fails to elevate its derivative premise. While some acknowledge the lead performances and occasional stylish visuals, the consensus characterizes the film as a collection of tired clichés plagued by a weak, nonsensical screenplay.
| Screenplay | The screenplay is consistently criticized for relying on hollow tropes, illogical plot holes, and a predictable narrative structure. | |
| Ending | The film fails to provide a cohesive or satisfying conclusion, leaving central mysteries unresolved and plot threads dangling. | |
| Acting | Morgan Freeman's involvement is frequently cited as a cynical use of star power, as he is relegated to a minor, inconsequential role. | |
| Acting | Opinions on Olga Kurylenko's performance are divided; some praise her physical commitment and screen presence, while others find her emotional range narrow or ill-suited to the role. | |
| Production | While the film's opening moments are noted for their polished and stylish aesthetic, the visual quality and production design are perceived to decline significantly as the film progresses. |
