Key opinion
This Naruto feature film is widely regarded as a visually impressive but narratively formulaic "filler" entry in the series. While it succeeds in capturing the franchise's signature tone and high-energy combat, it struggles with generic villainy and philosophical pretension.
| Cinematography | The film excels in visual presentation, featuring vivid colors, inventive camera angles, and dynamic, long-form action sequences. | |
| Screenplay | The plot relies heavily on generic tropes, featuring a cliché quest for utopian power and poorly developed villainous henchmen. | |
| Production | The world-building introduces a unique, authoritarian-dieselpunk aesthetic that stands out as a memorable departure from the series norm. | |
| Score | Opinions on the musical score are divided: some find the compositions to be standout pieces, while others feel the weak soundtrack actively detracts from the film's emotional impact. | |
| Theme | The story is caught between two worlds; some viewers appreciate its ambitious philosophical themes, while others find them to be superficial and ultimately meaningless. |
