Peter Pan & Wendy is a polarizing live-action reimagining that draws praise for its visual craft and nuanced character motivations while facing criticism for its underdeveloped script and lead performances. While some appreciate the attempt to add emotional depth to familiar archetypes, many find the execution lacks the originality or spark required to elevate it above a standard remake.
| Acting | Jude Law delivers a compelling, sympathetic performance as Captain Hook that stands out as a highlight of the film. | |
| Score | Daniel Hart provides a magnificent and evocative score that captures the spirit of the adventure. | |
| Cinematography | The film's visual presentation and cinematography offer a grand, albeit grounded and less whimsical, depiction of Neverland. | |
| Acting | The lead performances from Ever Anderson and Alexander Molony fail to anchor the film, appearing either weak or lifeless. | |
| Screenplay | The script is widely viewed as underdeveloped and lacking in originality, failing to provide a fresh or compelling cinematic perspective. | |
| Adaptation | The inclusion of specific subplots, such as the mermaids, is considered a wasted opportunity and lacking in meaningful development. | |
| Theme | Opinions on the film's thematic core are divided; some appreciate the expanded emotional backstories for Hook and Wendy, while others find the moral messaging simplistic or problematic. |
