Key opinion
Pride is widely celebrated as an uplifting, humanistic drama that effectively balances historical political struggle with witty humor. While a small minority of viewers criticize its pacing and thematic focus, the overwhelming consensus praises its poignant depiction of solidarity and the strong, authentic performances of its ensemble cast.
| Acting | The ensemble cast, featuring standout performances from Imelda Staunton and Bill Nighy, delivers heartfelt and credible portrayals of a diverse range of characters. | |
| Theme | The film masterfully avoids heavy-handed moralizing by blending situational humor with genuine emotional stakes to depict inter-class solidarity. | |
| Production | The soundtrack and production design successfully immerse viewers in the mid-1980s British atmosphere. | |
| Screenplay | Opinions on the screenplay are divided: supporters find the narrative of collective resistance deeply moving and cohesive, while critics argue it lacks originality or feel the runtime is unnecessarily stretched. |
