Key opinion
Private Parts is a surprisingly earnest and heartfelt biopic that succeeds by allowing Howard Stern to play himself with raw, improvisational energy. It effectively balances crude, transgressive humor with a compelling narrative about the drive for authenticity in media.
| Acting | Howard Stern delivers a surprisingly natural and convincing performance as himself, anchoring the film with his signature improvisational style. | |
| Humor | The film succeeds by pairing sharp, provocative humor with a genuine emotional narrative about the cost of maintaining one's persona. | |
| Theme | The narrative structure provides an insightful look into the industry's conflict between safe, corporate-driven content and Stern's confrontational, boundary-pushing style. | |
| Humor | The film’s brand of shock-heavy, absurdist comedy creates a sharp divide: fans of Stern find it hilarious and liberating, while those expecting traditional comedic sensibilities may find it alienating or revolting. |
