Description
Shattered illusions are hard to repair -- especially for a good-hearted zebra named Stripes who's spent his life on a Kentucky farm amidst the sorely mistaken notion that he's a debonair thoroughbred. Once he faces the fact that his stark stripes mark him as different, he decides he'll race anyway. And with help from the young girl who raised him, he just might end up in the winner's circle.

Key opinion
Racing Stripes is a polarizing family comedy centered on a zebra's ambition to compete in horse racing. While some viewers find it a heartwarming and funny film with charming animal characters, others criticize its predictable plot and reliance on tired genre clichés.
| Humor | The supporting animal characters, particularly the singing flies and the mobster pelican, provide the film's most memorable and humorous highlights. | |
| Theme | The film utilizes earnest, family-friendly themes that resonate with viewers looking for lighthearted, nostalgic entertainment. | |
| Screenplay | The screenplay leans heavily on predictable tropes and unoriginal character archetypes, such as the underdog hero and the doubting father figure. | |
| Pacing | Opinions on the narrative structure are split; fans find the pacing breezy and engaging, while critics feel the plot lacks substance and fails to depict the protagonist's growth through meaningful training. |
