Description
Primatologist Davis Okoye shares an unshakable bond with George, the extraordinarily intelligent, silverback gorilla who has been in his care since birth. But a rogue genetic experiment gone awry mutates this gentle ape into a raging creature of enormous size. To make matters worse, it’s soon discovered there are other similarly altered animals. As these newly created alpha predators tear across North America, destroying everything in their path, Okoye teams with a discredited genetic engineer to secure an antidote, fighting his way through an ever-changing battlefield, not only to halt a global catastrophe but to save the fearsome creature that was once his friend.

Key opinion
Rampage is widely regarded as a quintessential popcorn blockbuster that prioritizes large-scale monster spectacle and action over narrative substance. While audiences are divided on whether the film is a fun, mind-off experience or a hollow, formulaic disaster, there is a consensus that Dwayne Johnson's star power is the primary engine driving the project.
| Acting | Dwayne Johnson delivers his familiar, high-charisma persona, serving as the film's most reliable and engaging anchor. | |
| Screenplay | The screenplay relies heavily on tired disaster movie clichés, featuring an illogical plot and thin, one-dimensional characters. | |
| Emotion | The film functions as a mindless, purely aesthetic spectacle that succeeds for some as high-energy entertainment, while others dismiss it as a forgettable and soul-less exercise. | |
| Production | Opinions on the technical execution of the creatures are polarized; some find the CGI destruction impressive, while others view the creature designs and effects as unoriginal or poorly rendered. |
