Key opinion
Samaritan is generally viewed as a competent but formulaic superhero film that relies heavily on genre tropes and a predictable narrative. While the film is polarized by its modest budget and derivative script, Sylvester Stallone’s grounded performance and his chemistry with Javon Walton serve as the primary anchors for its audience.
| Acting | Sylvester Stallone delivers a compelling, understated performance that effectively anchors the film's grounded take on the superhero genre. | |
| Screenplay | The film's screenplay is widely criticized for being derivative, borrowing heavily from established works like Unbreakable and Joker without adding sufficient original substance. | |
| Ending | The narrative twist is viewed as technically functional and occasionally surprising, yet it is also described as predictable and failing to elevate the overall story. | |
| Pacing | Opinions on the pacing and direction are split; some find the deliberate, contemplative tempo rewarding, while others view the film as dull, flat, and lacking sufficient action energy. |
