Key opinion
This thriller series effectively captures parental anxiety and familial collapse through strong performances and a tense, neo-noir atmosphere. However, the narrative suffers from an over-reliance on manipulative cliffhangers and an bloated episode count that occasionally sacrifices coherence for shock value.
| Acting | Sarah Snook delivers a compelling, anchoring performance that drives the emotional core of the parental nightmare. | |
| Cinematography | The cold urban visuals and unsettling score successfully maintain a persistent atmosphere of dread and tension. | |
| Runtime | The eight-episode runtime feels bloated, with numerous side plots failing to meaningfully contribute to character development or the main investigation. | |
| Screenplay | The reliance on repetitive cliffhangers and grotesque revelations creates a sense of fatigue, undermining the impact of the mystery. | |
| Pacing | Pacing varies inconsistently, swinging between frantic sequences that lack emotional transitions and stagnant stretches of dialogue. |
