Key opinion
She's All That is a quintessential 90s teen rom-com that divides audiences between those who appreciate its sincere, fairy-tale charm and those who find it a collection of tired, predictable clichés. While opinions on the execution vary, the film remains a notable staple of the genre for its nostalgic value and star-studded cast.
| Acting | The casting of Freddie Prinze Jr. and Rachel Leigh Cook provides the necessary charm and sincerity to anchor a conventional premise. | |
| Screenplay | The plot follows a predictable, well-worn trajectory that offers little in terms of narrative innovation. | |
| Humor | The film strikes a balance between comedy and romance that many viewers find refreshing due to its lack of the lewd, vulgar humor found in contemporary peers. | |
| Theme | The characterization of the leads is viewed as either a sincere exploration of adolescent social dynamics or a collection of flat, stereotypical archetypes. | |
| Pacing | The pacing is criticized by some as slow to start, with the narrative conflict only becoming engaging well into the first act. |
