Key opinion
Singularity is widely regarded as a low-budget, derivative science fiction effort that fails to distinguish itself from genre staples. While the film is praised for its stunning cinematography and effective use of natural landscapes, these visual strengths are undermined by a derivative plot, poor production values, and lackluster performances.
| Cinematography | The film features breathtaking cinematography that captures natural landscapes and ruins with striking visual clarity. | |
| Screenplay | The plot is overwhelmingly derivative, transparently recycling tropes and narrative structures from films like The Terminator, I Am Legend, and The Hunger Games. | |
| The production quality is severely limited by a low budget, resulting in obvious and unconvincing green-screen effects. | ||
| Acting | The performances are inconsistent, with critics highlighting an over-reliance on histrionics and a lack of depth in the character portrayals. | |
| Screenplay | The narrative structure and ending are sources of contention: some viewers appreciate the film as an abstract philosophical meditation, while others dismiss the lack of climax and predictable story beats as a failure of basic storytelling. |
