Key opinion
Disney’s 2025 remake of Snow White is deeply divisive, polarized between those who find Rachel Zegler’s performance and the new musical numbers emotionally resonant and those who criticize the film for its disjointed social messaging and poor production values. While critics and audiences frequently praise the vocal performances, there is widespread disagreement regarding the script's thematic focus, the quality of the CGI, and the efficacy of modernizing a classic fairy tale.
| Acting | Rachel Zegler’s vocal delivery and musical performances are widely considered the film’s strongest highlight, characterized by technical range and emotional sincerity. | |
| Production | The CGI-rendered creatures meant to replace the original dwarfs are frequently criticized for looking cheap, artificial, and poorly integrated into the film's aesthetic. | |
| Screenplay | The screenplay is viewed by many as a disjointed patchwork that forces modern social and political themes into a narrative where they feel unearned or structurally incompatible. | |
| Acting | Opinions on Rachel Zegler’s portrayal of Snow White are sharply split, with some praising her as a radiant and modern embodiment of the character, while others view her performance as unsympathetic, arrogant, or ill-suited for the role. | |
| Production | The visual presentation of the film divides opinion, as some find the production design and costuming stunning and vibrant, while others describe them as stagey, gray, and lacking the signature magic associated with Disney's classic aesthetic. |
