Key opinion
Stolen is widely regarded as a generic, formulaic action thriller that offers little beyond a standard "hostage rescue" premise. While Nicolas Cage's committed performance provides some entertainment value for his fans, the film's predictable script and lack of originality prevent it from leaving a lasting impression.
| Acting | Nicolas Cage delivers an engaging and purposeful performance that serves as the film's primary anchor. | |
| Screenplay | The screenplay relies heavily on predictable genre tropes and formulaic heist narratives that feel outdated. | |
| Originality | The film functions as a passable, "one-time watch" entertainment, though critics and audiences disagree on whether it is a harmless time-killer or a forgettable waste of time. | |
| Pacing | The pacing is viewed as brisk and functional by some, while others find the narrative flow stagnant, boring, and lacking in necessary tension. | |
| Acting | The supporting cast, particularly the daughter and the villain, are widely criticized as underwritten and uncharismatic. |
