Key opinion
Superman/Batman: Public Enemies is a visually driven action spectacle that prioritizes high-stakes combat and a vast roster of DC characters over narrative complexity. While fans appreciate its faithful 2D animation and energetic pacing, critics find the plot thin and prone to significant logical gaps.
| animation | The film features vibrant, high-quality 2D animation that successfully captures the scale of the source material's action. | |
| Originality | The narrative crams in an extensive, fan-pleasing roster of DC heroes and villains, though many characters serve only as disposable combat fodder. | |
| Direction | The action sequences are relentless and expertly choreographed, serving as the primary driver of the viewer's engagement. | |
| Screenplay | The screenplay is criticized for having a thin, motive-driven plot riddled with logical inconsistencies and convenient narrative shortcuts. | |
| Production | Opinions on character design are divided; while some praise the vibrant visual style, others find the overly muscular anatomy and aesthetic changes to Lex Luthor distracting or unappealing. | |
| Pacing | The pacing is viewed as brisk and exciting by those seeking pure spectacle, yet others find the narrative flow disjointed, with dramatic moments often undermined by abrupt scene transitions. |
