Description
Over a month has passed since 10,000 users were trapped inside the "Sword Art Online" world. Asuna, who cleared the first floor of the floating iron castle of Aincrad, joined up with Kirito and continued her journey to reach the top floor. With the support of female Information Broker Argo, clearing the floors seemed to be progressing smoothly, but conflict erupts between two major guilds who should be working together – the top player groups ALS (the Aincrad Liberation Squad) and DKB (the Dragon Knights Brigade). And meanwhile, behind the scenes exists a mysterious figure pulling the strings…

Key opinion
This installment offers an engaging, action-focused experience that succeeds in delivering well-choreographed combat and strong visuals. While fans of the series will appreciate the lore expansion and returning characters, others may find the narrative one-dimensional and the tension lacking.
| Direction | The film excels in delivering high-quality, fluid animated combat sequences and creature designs. | |
| Screenplay | The narrative follows a predictable, straightforward structure that lacks deep thematic resonance. | |
| Production | The visual presentation and 3D integration significantly elevate the spectacle of the boss battles. | |
| Score | The score is perceived as repetitive and fails to heighten the emotional weight of the final confrontation. | |
| Emotion | The presence of well-established characters creates a familiar, comforting dynamic for fans, yet diminishes the stakes and suspense for others. |
