Key opinion
The Mighty is widely regarded as a deeply touching and sincere drama that celebrates the transformative power of friendship between two outcasts. While most viewers find the performances and moral resonance profoundly moving, a minority find the fairy-tale elements and narrative structure overly simplistic or naive.
| Acting | The performances by Elden Henson and Kieran Culkin are universally praised as breakthrough, highly convincing portrayals of their respective characters. | |
| Theme | The film effectively conveys a powerful, uplifting message about resilience, the value of inner worth over appearance, and the necessity of human connection. | |
| Emotion | The tragic climax and final moments are exceptionally potent, leaving many viewers profoundly affected and moved to tears. | |
| Screenplay | Opinions on the narrative tone are divided; many find the blend of harsh reality and chivalric fantasy inspiring, while others feel the fairy-tale framing trivializes the drama. |
