Trailers Tickets

A train travels across Italy toward Rome. On board is a professor who daydreams a conversation with a love that never was, a family of Albanian refugees who switch trains and steal a ticket, three brash Scottish soccer fans en route to a match, and a complaining widow traveling to a memorial service for her late husband who's accompanied by a community-service volunteer who's assisting her. Interactions among these Europeans turn on class and nationalism, courtesy and rudeness, and opportunities for kindness.

Tickets is a triptych anthology film that uses a train journey as a unifying backdrop to explore themes of tolerance, humanity, and social alienation in contemporary Europe. While the segments are praised for their meaningful messages and strong ensemble acting, opinions on the film's execution and momentum vary among viewers.

Acting The ensemble cast delivers consistently high-quality performances across all three segments.
Score The score is well-chosen and effectively complements the film's contemplative and humanistic tone.
Pacing The deliberate, meditative pacing creates a thoughtful viewing experience for some, while others find the film slow and prone to inducing boredom.
Screenplay The anthology structure successfully connects distinct stories into a harmonious meditation on modern society, though some narratives conclude with frustrating abruptness.
