Key opinion
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is generally viewed as a functional, if derivative, action film that splits audiences between those who find it a fun, nostalgic reboot and those who consider it an uninspired, infantile downgrade from previous entries. While the performances of the human leads and the charisma of the character Mirage are frequently praised, the film is widely criticized for its thin plot, underdeveloped characters, and jarring tonal shifts.
| Acting | Pete Davidson's voice performance as Mirage provides a lively and genuinely amusing highlight for the film. | |
| Acting | The human leads, particularly Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback, deliver capable performances that help anchor the spectacle. | |
| Score | The film utilizes an engaging 1990s-inspired soundtrack that effectively enhances the atmosphere. | |
| Screenplay | The plot relies heavily on predictable, derivative tropes that echo numerous other adventure and sci-fi franchises. | |
| Production | Opinions on visual effects are divided; some find the CGI to be polished and immersive, while others describe the textures as blurry, plastic, or lacking the weight of earlier installments. | |
| Humor | The humor is polarizing; fans of the film appreciate the levity added by the robots, while detractors find the jokes cringeworthy, infantile, and out of place. |
