Key opinion
Underworld: Blood Wars is widely considered a low point for the franchise, criticized for its recycled plot and lackluster technical execution. While a small segment of the audience appreciates its commitment to the series' established aesthetic, most critics and viewers find it to be a redundant, B-movie style entry that relies heavily on stale action tropes.
| Acting | Kate Beckinsale remains the franchise's primary draw, though her performance is debated as being either reliably solid or increasingly monotone. | |
| Originality | The film fails to innovate, offering a predictable and repetitive narrative that lacks the freshness of the earlier series entries. | |
| Direction | The action sequences are divisive, praised by some as entertaining genre staples but criticized by others for poor choreography and uninspired execution. | |
| Production | Visual quality is a point of contention, with some viewers enjoying the stylized atmosphere and others finding the CGI and technical effects to be cheap or inferior. | |
| Screenplay | The screenplay is widely criticized for being illogical, reliant on weak exposition, and filled with shallow, forgettable characters. |
